The College Spread Offense(May 2008)
The college version of the “Spread Offense” is the offense du jour on all levels of football right now, except the NFL. Many high schools
Over the years I have written football related columns for a variety of publications and websites. From 2006 until 2014 I wrote a coach’s column for scout.com’s magazine division, especially for the Browns fan magazine The Orange and Brown Review. Unfortunately, they have discontinued the print version. Below are many of the columns I wrote. Some of them are also posted on my blog. If you read through all of them you will feel the pain of all Browns fans, because for the whole time I wrote the column the team performed poorly. I think I did a good job when I wasn’t writing about the Browns, especially those columns that covered the nuts and bolts of football. Along with my good friend Dave Hostetler, who is a great photographer, during the 2013 and 2014 Browns seasons we did a weekly blog called “View from the Dawg Pound.” Those entries along with many photographs are also posted on my blog. If there isn’t enough pain and sorrow in your life, and you are still a Browns fan, check them out!
The sad, sad thing is now, years later after I wrote many of these columns, nothing has changed for the Browns. Having the worst ownership in football will keep the Browns from ever being successful.

I never remembered a draft that had so much hype as this year. So many subplots: the whole RGIII saga; the need for offensive play
